Jim Duncan is a Realtor who operates primarily in the city of Charlottesville, VA.  He writes a blog that covers topics related to the local real estate market as well as macroeconomic trends.  His blog is one of the best we've seen on real estate in Virginia, and it's well worth a read if you're considering a move to the Charlottesville area or if you're a current resident who plans to buy or sell.

What sets Jim's blog apart from others is his ability to graphically and numerically analyze economic trends.  Many of his posts include charts and financial data, and he makes it a point, as often as possible, to include visual representations of the information he's covering.  Jim actually offers consulting and analysis as services that he provides in the "About" section of his blog, and he's got an entire section of his blog to "Market Statistics."  He's serious about the numbers.

More than this, though, he's serious about Charlottesville.  Jim writes constant, interesting posts dealing with local news and daily life in his city, and he does so with wit and an eye for flavor.  His most recent post, as of this review, discussed the merits of bicycling in the area and brought up the city's need for additional bike lanes.

Jim also provides potential homebuyers access to the local MLS.  And the interface looks great through his site.  Full color pictures, lots of information, and a dynamic map.  It's a great way to search for homes in the area.  You can sort listings by neighborhood directly through his blog, under the "Charlottsville 'Hoods" section, which allows visitors to pinpoint their area of interest.

All told, Jim's blog is an excellent resource for potential homebuyers who wish to learn about real estate in the Charlottesville, VA, area.  You'll find information on home prices, mortgage rates, local news, and more.  Learn from Jim at www.realcentralva.com.
