Do there seem to be delays overall for FHA underwriting? by lauren3929 from Los Angeles, California. Jun 16th 2010

No more delays than any other type of mortgage. A well prepared and submitted file should easily close within 30 days; often less.
Akali Dennie (adennie)
We are a National Direct Lender and can close a fully submitted FHA file very quickly. I would be happy to send you a free price quote.

Sometimes there can be delays in underwriting due to the volume of loans that are currently being underwritten for FHA loans. My bank normally averages a 24 to 48 hour turn time for Underwriting. I hope this answers your question.
Bill Dunger (billdunger)
There shouldn't be if it is submitted as a full package. 24-48 hours all day everyday. I just closed a refinance from start to finish in 11 days.

Hello Lauren, It seems so at times....but if you get a good, experienced FHA Underwriter this definitely helps. Would you like a good referral for FHA?

No. If you are going through a bank sometimes they are very slow. It should take less than 30 days. If you have any questions, give us a call. Take care,Kyle StancatoOwnerbayviewhomeloans@msn.com253-460-6000
