If you filed chapter 7, then VA requires a 2 year waiting period.. 1 year with extenuating circumstances.. so you can apply now since you're already at the 2 year mark.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. For VA loans a Chapter 7 bankruptcy may be disregarded if discharged more than 2 years ago provided the Automated Underwriting System (AUS) results are positive with Approve/Accept.

Lots of good advice previously, underwriter will look at your entire file to make sure they are comfortable the problems leading to the BK willl not happen again. Having some savings would definitely help. Let me know if I can help when you are ready to move forward, licensed in VA
