For VA loans a Chapter 7 bankruptcy may be disregarded if discharged more than 2 years ago provided the Automated Underwriting System (AUS) results are positive with Approve/Accept.
2 years from the discharged date .. not when the bk was closed , when the judge signs the order fora discharge and a dismiss. and the trustee has up to 6 months to refile if they see the need to
2 years as long as you re-establish your credit and have Zero lates since
Lots of good advice previously, underwriter will look at your entire file to make sure they are comfortable the problems leading to the BK willl not happen again. Having some savings would definitely help. Let me know if I can help when you are ready to move forward, licensed in VA
