A 614 credit score is considered bad credit. The vast majority of lenders will not go below 640, which really limits your options. The good news is, a small number of FHA lenders WILL lend with a 614 middle score. The reality is, score alone does not an approval make. Contact a local mortgage broker, and good luck.

You should be able to obtain FHA financing however, you will need to search around a bit as most lenders have overlays which prohibit anything below a particular credit score (generally 640 or 620).

Contact a lender that is licensed in Iowa to look into your loan options. Based on your credit score an FHA loan might be the right option for you.
