If not, what other fees are there when getting a VA? by VadimBrenner670 from Mesa, Arizona. May 23rd 2014
There is no insurance premium on a VA loan but there is a VA funding fee but you may be exempt from this fee. If you have any other questions contact us at jafonso@azhomerates.com or call 602-531-7040
Josephs answer was right on.
There is an up front mortgage insurance premium but no monthly regardless of loan to value.
There is no mortgage insurance premiums associated with a VA Guaranteed Home Loan; however, there may be a VA funding fee that can be potentially rolled into the end loan. Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
There is no mortgage insurance on VA home loans.....However, there is a VA funding fee that is charged on top of the loan. The funding fee is a percentage of the loan amount and is different depending on your situation. For instance: $0 down payment, first time use, active duty/retired is 2.15% or if in the guard/reserve it's 2.40%.....If you put down 5 to 10% down payment the fee goes down to 1.50% for active duty/retired and 1.75% for guard/reserve.......2nd time or greater VA loan use, $0 down payment, active duty/retired and guard/reserve the fee is 3.30%.....If you put down 5-10% the fee is reduced to 1.50% for active duty/retired and 1.75% for guard/reserve.....If you put down 10% or more then it goes down to 1.25% for active duty/retired and 1.50% guard/reserve......If you have a 10% or greater disability the funding fee is waived. Best wishes, Sean
There is no monthly Mortgage Insurance. There is an upfront Funding Fee however that is financed into the loan ranging form 0% of the loan amount to 3.35% of the loan amount.
