Mortgage rates continue to edge higher. Today rates hit the highest levels since the end of May. We tend to see rates stabilize as the market stabilizes, but like most activity in the market as of late, the market has been hard to gauge one day to the next, even considering new events. Today rates increased once again, yet bond markets showed some improvement. Loan originators favor locking in due to the instability between the bond market and mortgage rates. ...

Today bond markets were very weak, which would imply a movement to higher rates. Unless we see a huge recovery over the weekend in Europe and Asia markets, we can expect to see Monday's rates move a bit higher.
