Non-conventional loans had a substantial increase in financing new purchases in 2019. The NAHB says while conventional loans dominated purchases, its share shrunk from 71.4% of the market in 2018 to 65% in 2019.  Non-conventional mortgages increased respectively, from 28.6% to 35%.
