Mortgage rates remained steady today. That leaves them as the lowest levels in July. The bond markets were exceptionally quiet today, especially for mortgage- related bonds.  Activity should increase a bit over the week. It is normal for bonds to be slowere on Mondays and Fridays. The Fed announcement on Wednesday should draw out more participation among traders on Wednesday.
