Mortgage Rates 04-04-16

By Lisa Robison Updated on 4/4/2016

Mortgage rates are steady today, maintaining at the lowest levels in about 6 weeks.  Most lenders are settings 30 year fixed rates at 3.625 for top tier borrowers, with slight variations per lender.  Today brought nothing significant by way of data, and things seem to be stabilizing after the shift in momentum brought about by Yellen's Fed update last week. We are still waiting for this trend to establish itself, but it looks as though this is more than simply a consolidation effort.  This week in domestic data, we have the ISM-New York Index today, along with Factory Orders, and then tomorrow the International Trade numbers, and the ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI.  Wednesday is the Mortgage Market Index, as well as the EIA weekly crude stocks.  Thursday's report is the Initial Jobless Claims, and then Friday we have the Wholesale inventories.  Check back tomorrow for the most up-to-date mortgage news.
