Mortgage Rates 4-7-14

By Stevie Duffin Updated on 4/7/2014

What will mortgage interest rates do tomorrow? Rates should stay the same, according to mortgage professionals voting on our daily poll.

Mortgage bonds remain relatively static while stocks sit low.

Little market moving news out today but look out for Producer Price Index, Consumer Sentiment and Initial Jobless Claims at the end of the week. Notably, the FOMC minutes from the March 19 meeting will be released Wednesday at 2:00PM ET. The Treasury will be selling a total of $64B bonds and notes through Thursday.

Last week: Just below the 195K expected, March saw 192K new jobs and 37K jobs were added to the January and February reports. Hourly wages left much to be desired but on a better note, average hours worked per week were up. The markets didn't blink much at the information, although bonds bounced back from a slow morning and week.
