Mortgage Rates 4-17-14

What will mortgage interest rates do tomorrow? Rates should stay the same, according to mortgage professionals voting on Lender411's daily poll.

Mortgage bonds were higher in the morning but have continued to drift lower through midday ET. 

Weekly Initial Jobless Claims rose by 2K to 304K in the latest week, undercutting the the 312K expected. They're still holding at 7 year lows as firings continue to slow. This week, Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen announced that the Federal Reserve does not expect to see a robust jobs market for another two years. 

Yesterday: Weaker than expected Existing Home Sale numbers pushed mortgage bonds into positive territory.

The markets close early today at 2PM ET, and remain closed tomorrow for Good Friday.
