Selection Process of a Mortgage Lender

Friday, April 11, 2014 - Article by: Larry Gray - Guarantee Mortgage - Message

For the vast majority of people purchasing a home is their single largest financial investment. The purchasing process and the lending process can cause a certain amount of stress for most people, to say the least. What is important to most people who have been through the home purchase process in the past? The most important thing to most borrowers, particularly those who have bought several or more properties, is top of the line professionalism from beginning to end of the loan. They want assurance that the lending program they have qualified for and chosen has been accurately disclosed as to what they will receive come time to draw the final documents for closing the loan. They do not like surprises at later stages of the loan.

Also, experienced home loan borrowers expect a high level of communication throughout the loan process so they can rest assured their loan process is moving along right on schedule or faster. If they call they expect a return call within a very reasonable of time. The time factor is crucial: borrowers want to know there are no hitches in the loan process to prevent their loan from funding on time, or better yet on schedule to fund early. Those borrowers who have been through the home purchasing process multiple times usually have a low tolerance level for seeming incompetence from loan officers or their staff, poor communication, and serious delays in the lending process.Things can happen when many different people handle or are involved with the loan

in some way. However, an experienced and conscientious loan officer or mortgage banker can minimize any potential problems or delays first by doing everything upfront accurately and thoroughly. Next, by keeping on top of all facets of the loan and make sure nothing stalls the loan or prevents it from moving along on schedule. They minimize the number of conditions an underwriter might request be fulfilled. It is irritating for experienced home purchasers to be asked for numerous items they felt they could have been asked for upfront to begin with. Not all aspects of the loan process on every loan will necessarily go the way the borrower wants them to but at least in being kept well informed at every key juncture, a borrower's mind can be eased to know, in spite of an unanticipated problem the loan will still fund on schedule.

What a wonderful feeling to close the loan on a new home purchase,as many experienced borrowers will tell you.
