when did ocwen take over gmac mortgages?

not sure if Ocwen took over all GMAC mortgages but they probably bought the servicing rights to many of GMAC mortgages.

About a year or so ago. I personally had a gmac loan on my rental and ocwen took it over about 10mos-1yr ago.

OCWEN did NOT take over GMAC mortgage... GMAC mortgage filed bankruptcy, and the servicing rights to all their mortgages were bought by various other companies... OCWEN got a large share.

Ocwen is primarily a servicing lender.. meaning, their main business model is not originating loans, but rather purchasing the service rights to the loans.. during the mortgage downturn, GMAC filed Bankruptcy.. and their book of business was sold off.. I'm sure Ocwen jumped in and purchased the bulk of them.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona.
