refinancing underwater

are there any refinance options for an underwater property bought by Freddie in July 2009? I know I just missed the HARP cut-off, are there any other possible options? by KLear_870_392 from Salt Lake City, Utah. Sep 7th 2012 Reply

Unfortunately No. i would contact your servicer and try to get a modification if you cannot afford your current mortgage. Otherwise, a HARP 3 program may come out soon. We have to wait and see. Best Of Luck!

Not under the current HARP 2 program. Your only option today is to try and negotiate a modification from your current lender. I wouldn't hold my breath, though. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com 888-889-9950

Unfortunately no.. There is another refinance program on the table.. We call it "HARP 3.0", however the media is calling it "Obama's Refinance Plan".. however nothing is solid as of yet... I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

Unfortunately you will not be able to take advantage of the HARP program and right now there are no programs that I know of on a refinance. Have you tried contacting your existing lender. Some lenders are working with their clients. Also I know they are working on another HARP program. I don't know when it will come out but maybe they will extend the date. Call or write you representatives and ask them to put their voice behind moving the date. You never know. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. I right here in Salt Lake. No. You may want to try requesting a modification. Be careful though, sometimes when you modify your loan, the bank will report the modified payments as a partial payment to the credit bureau. So, even though you are making all of your payments on time, your credit report will show that you have mortgage late payments and your credit will be severely damaged.
