Hi, My wife and I are green card holders living in GA, 30024. I would like to refinance our home in the UK with a company in the US so that I can manage payment of the loan here in the US. We have a lot of equity in the home and have great credit scores. Is this possible? by michae_636_198 from Lithonia, Georgia. Nov 6th 2012
No, I don't believe you can do that. No US loan originator's license is valid in the UK and since that is where the home is then it can't be done.
I'm not aware of any US lender that will lend on a property overseas... there would be issues with recourse and default that a US lender would not be prepared for dealing with other country's laws, rules, and regulations.... I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com
Not likely because American banks are not likely to be approved for making real estate loans in the UK. However, you may be able to arrange for a UK loan from a UK bank, such as Barclay's, that you can manage through their on-line capability. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Licensed in California and Arizona ~ www.LoansA2z.com 888-889-9950
Not from any source I'm aware of - most US residential lenders only lend in the US. You would need an international lender, or a bank/institution that works both in the US and UK. Maybe someone else here will have a suggestion, but that would be a very specialized loan.
Try a branch of Royal Bank of Scotland located in the US.
Hi Michae if you use a bank that is Global I'm sure they can help you. I would try Citi Bank or Hsbc. Those are in my oppinion the 2 biggest global you can use.Good luck.
You will need to locate a bank that operates in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
