Local Mortgage Brokers have many different options to support you with in choosing best rate/pricing and even speed of the loan, in some cases.. Quicken Loans has an excellent service department and they are huge. In fact they are one of the wholesale lenders that some correspondent smaller mortgage companies have as one of their choices on various loans. However, I think you just might get a better rate and pricing from a local broker or least within your State. Please note a lot of what we refer to as Brokers are really primarily correspondent lenders. That means they loan their money but ultimately choose a lender for the best rate/pricing the day you lock in your rate, who then ends up purchasing loan to service. A standard mortgage broker chooses from different lenders but the difference is the Lender does the Underwriting of the loan and ultimately funds the loan. The correspondent mortgage broker does the Underwriting and ultimately funds the loan and generally then per agreement sells the servicing rights of the loan to a large servicing bank. Every mortgage consultant or loan officer expects to be shopped for the best rate and pricing as that is your right as a loan consumer.

Absolutely.. your local mortgage pro is much more efficient at closing loans.. and they will be familiar with local intricacies,, making them a much better source than a 50 states, internet lender.
