My husband and I are getting divorced and we happen to have a joint mortgage. What is the easiest option to remove my name from the mortgage? I do not want my credit to be damaged if any payments are missed by CDevil_257_656 from Deerfield Beach, Florida. Aug 28th 2012
So by your question I have to assume that he gets the house.. By him refinancing or paying off the mortgage, he can remove your name from the obligation.. There is no other way to remove you from this loan... I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com
You can have your husband refinance and you will have to sign a quit claim deed at or prior to the closing on his refinance.
I reccommed that he refinance the property. Many attorney' suggest that you sign a quit claim deed however you then have a contingent liability. Not so good for you.Let me know if I can be of further assistance.Curtis
That is correct the only way to remove your self from the liability is to have him refinance in his name only.
Qualify and refinance in your name, or have him refinance in his name only. Im in Pembroke Pines 954 558 4430 Loan Simple www.firstfloridafin.com Craig
