If my name is on the deed does that mean my name is on the house? Even though its not on the loan?

If your name is on the deed, but not on the loan, then you have all the benefits of ownership, but you don't have the liability of the loan.. Meaning if the payments are not made, and the lender forecloses, it wont show on your credit... and because your name is on the deed, the property cannot be transferred without your consent.. .. The short answer is yes you are a legal owner of the home and the deed can't be transferred without your approval, even though you are not on the loan.
