You can always change lenders, but you would need to let the seller know that your changing lenders.. since it's a change to the contract, they might have an issue, or at the very least question your motive.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

Hi Chuck, the answer to your question is yes. You are under no obligation to use the lender who initially prequalified or preapproved you for a loan. Of course, the seller for your home may be a little weary of you switching lenders should they find that out, but otherwise it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you are choosing a lender that you are confident will get your loan done for you on a timely basis. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Thanks.

Well... yes and no. When making an offer on a home, the Real Estate Agent is going to want a Pre-Approval Letter from the lender you are actually working with...

Absolutely! You can change lenders at any time during the process. My only suggestion is to not order an appraisal from anyone until you have made your decision on which lender you want to use. We will pay for you appraisal here. Please let me know if you would like to discuss in further detail. I can be reached at 619-785-3888 or dan@omnifund.net Thanks for the great question. Yes, but do it early enough in the process so that you don't spend more money than you need to. For example if you order the appraisal with one lender and change to another there will be a transfer fee. Good luck.

Good answers from others, the details really depend on where in the process of purchasing you are. Any new lender will need to go through the same steps as needed for the previous preapproval (credit report and possibly review income and asset documentation) but the result should be the same.

You can change lenders at any time, however you will need to get approved by each lender .
