They still have it listed on my credit report as a negative account can I get this removed from negative? by meganb_699_330 from , . Apr 16th 2013
If the payments were made over 30 days late they will remain as part of your payment history even though the loan has been paid off. You can try a credit repair co. to see if they can get them removed. If you do find a LOCAL mortgage lender on this site who can refer you to a reputable credit repair firm, preferably in your area.
You might be able to do the work of asking the lender to remove the two items yourself. How long ago did the late payments occur? Is the reporting correct?
The late payments have been reported by the lender and it is a negative item on your credit report. Similar to any negative item, the late payment will remain in your credit report for 7 years. However, as you have paid off the loan, you can contact your mortgage lender and request him to remove the late payment from your credit report. It will be completely the lender's discretion whether or not he will do so.Thank you.:)

The reporting history will normally remain on your report for 7 years unless the creditor is willing to remove it. Possible but not likely.
Any incorrect information can always be removed from a credit report... make take a little work, but if it is really incorrect, it can be removed.
