Are you talking about a 2nd mortgage on the same property? That depends on that lender, whether they offer that option. If you are asking whether that lender will make another mortgage to you on a different property, the answer normally is likely yes - as long as you qualify. Each is a separate approval.
Second mortgage or a new first mortgage for another property?
Assuming they offer them, and you and the property qualify - sure. But often times this is not the best option. You can usually get a better deal with a different lender.
If your talking about taking a 2nd lien position mortgage against a property you already have a 1st on, then possibly.. not every lender does 2nd mortgages.. if your talking about getting a 1st mortgage on another property while still leaving your existing mortgage in place, then probably.. most lenders will allow you to have up to 4 mortgages with them so long as you do not have more than 10 financed properties..
