VA actually doesn't have a minimum score, but more lenders set one, typically at 620 or 640. Your 650 is high enough! Let me know if I can answer any questions on VA Loans. Marty Stern

The vast majority of VA lenders would be happy to work with a 650 score... but remember, score alone does not an approval make... www.VA-IRRRL-Loan-MN.com

Who Knows?? I've had borrowers with 750 credit scores get turned down, so without looking at your complete scenario, it's impossible for anyone here to say for sure.. Typically, lenders have minimum credit score requirements, and for VA the ideal score is 660 or above, however there are many lenders out there that will consider scores above 620.. But we're also talking about your MID score.. not your highest score. Also, Income, Debt to income, job type, job length, type of income (commissions, w2 or 1099 paid employee, self employed, Etc), credit deficiencies, etc, etc, etc.. so much more is looked at beside the credit score that it's anyone's guess.. The best advice I can give you is to contact a LOCAL mortgage broker and apply with them. Do not use the local "Big" bank, or one of those 50 states internet lenders or nationwide lenders...By applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with numerous lenders, seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario. Because he has lower overhead, he can offer you lower rates and lower fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
