No you are not, but should have one as it can save your life. If you are refinancing, the lender you are using or will use will order the appraisal and will not take one you get done independently. Call us we can Help!800-991-5309 ask for Michelle

You don't order the appraiser, the lender does.. If you hire an appraiser independently of the lender, the lender will not use it and you would have wasted your money.. New laws mandate that the appraiser be independent of the parties involved in the transaction.. there can be no relationship between the home owner, lender, or title company.. for this reason, lenders are required to use an appraisal management company when ordering appraisals.. As far as carbon monoxide detectors... No, you are not required to have them, but if you do have them, they must be working properly.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. You are not required to have one as you are refinancing your property- If you were to purchase a home then pursuant to the new law in Ct that took effect 1/1/14 you then would be required. It is a good idea to have one though. As for the appraisal , then lender you choose to do the refinance will order the appraisal for the refinance. Please call 203-788-2619 or e-mail me pbass@nvsl.com with any other questions you may have. Thanks in advance for the opportunity!Pete
