I am also in the same situation. I will be going to closing in a few weeks and I can't seem to find anyway for the mortgage company to get a paper that does not exist. sallie mae will not even write a letter saying that if my situation remains the same or even close to the same that the IBR plan will be basically the same payment for the next year.Help. My family really needs this.

Info is missing... but I think your talking about student loans.. and if you cannot provide a document which shows what your monthly payment will be, then the lender will use 2% of the outstanding balance as a monthly payment to be able to determine your debt to income ratio.. this payment would higher than what your actual payment would be, but without the proper documentation, this is what the lender will use.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. I am trying to obtain a mortgage for the house I want to purchase. I have gone through all the steps that the bank (PrimeLending) has asked of me. Now we are just two weeks away from closing and they need an updated letter from Sallie Mae that my payments will be $0. for 12 months from the closing date. I am on the IBR payment plan and the problem is I just renewed my annual plan in April. So the Letter I have states that I will pay $0 from April 2014 to April 2015. That is not good enough because closing is June. I have no idea what to do now. I have already put so much time and money into this house and the sellers have repaired things according to my home inspection. I do not want to get denied all because my letter is outdated for two months. That isridiculous to me. Someone said I could just reapply and they would process my request using the most current application, but I just went through the process two months ago. I don'teven know if that will work and I don't want to cancel out my current plan just byre-applying for the same thing. what if it doesn't work? I really need this loan for this property. My family needs this home. I have built my credit up into the 700's. I only have a car loan and regular monthly bills. I also have my step-father and mother moving in with me (they have income but no credit, old-school) pay cash for everything) that does not help me on the paperwork side)I really don't think this one thing (Sallie Mae) should be standing in my way.
