Beth, whether it's a spouse, boyfriend, or relative, they are considerd a co-borrower for those purposes. There are specificguidelines whether your loan is a FNMA or Freddie Mac in order to remove them. Do you know which your mortgage is?Ray

Yes, it is possible as long as you can provide detailed evidence that you have been making the payments on your own with no assistance for at least 12 months.

It is possible; however, as many have alluded the proof of payment history will be required. Illinois is both a community property state and an attorney state so you may wish to seek legal advice as to the impact that removing your "ex-boyfriend". Happy Good Friday!
