If your loan went through an escrow/title company and it shows money remaining that is not designated to anyone on your final HUD 1,or estimated final HUD 1 if it did not fund yet, then the escrow company should bewiring any funds remaining to you either by check or directly deposited via wire to the bank you gave them instructions for.
Hi Agnes! If you are referring to the fact that you made a "Deposit" to the lender for "Due Diligence Fees" and your documentation shows that the actual Closing Costs were less than the Deposit you made to the lender, then assuming there is nothing more to this scenario, you should be entitled to a refund . As noted by Larry, you should have signed a HUD-1 Settlement Statement at closing, which should have detailed all of the itemized costs and fees associated with your loan, including any deposits you may have provided in advance. I'd be happy to take a look for you if you want to send me this information offline, so please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like. Thank you for the question and do enjoy the day!
