I spoke with a company that I found online, but they wanted a lot of money upfront and I'm not sure that they will be able to help me. Can I get the names of a couple companies that have been successful in credit repair for other clients? I am in UT. by jennifer_k491 from Midvale, Utah. Oct 21st 2015
Jennifer, try Credit Unlimited in Bountiful. Email or Call alisab@creditunlimited.com at 866.440.6344 Ext. 202. Tell her I referred you. I know there are some upfront costs but I don't think there fees are unreasonable. One other thing you might want to do is give me a call and talk through some of your issues. I might be able to give you some direction (for free). At find out where you are with credit and tell you where you need to be to get a mortgage loan. Most of credit repair can be handled by paying off old collections, judgement or liens. If you have credit cards with high balances you need to pay those down below 50% of the credit limit. Then you will need to wait for 30 to 60 days for all accounts to refresh. If you do that; it will take care of most of the issues. Then you should look into getting a credit repair company to step in to remove old data. Jesse Stroup California Mortgage Professional www.CaliforniaHomeLoanLender.comwww.JesseStroup.comNMLS# 6229
I've been in finance for nearly 30 years now and I can tell you that credit repair is an industry that typically has a lot of complaints and dissatisfied customers.. and i've had very little success, so for that reason, I typically do not give out referrals.. the only suggestion I would make is that if you do find a company you feel comfortable with, be sure you do your due diligence.. look the up on the Better Business Bureau and be sure to look for reviews.. know what your getting into before you commit.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Acres, Lender411's number ONE lender in Arizona. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com NMLS# 226347
You might try The Credit Coach out of the Saint Louis area. They can be reached at 314-551-9876. Another great company located in the KC area, but can help nationwide is Certified Credit Law Center. They can be reached at 816-520-3506.
I have to concur with William J Acres comment, or at least recommend caution. No one out there is better than you at fixing your own credit. However, having tried to assist people to do so, I discovered there is a market for someone to assist. But people have been asked to foolishly close accounts to the tune of too many closed! And if all they end up with is a lot of "consumer disputes" on the credit report it is going to take quite awhile to get them all removed so you can even get a mortgage loan...and who knows what your credit scores will be? it is better to not get a bunch of disputes on the credit report and try to resolve problems via negotiating for those credit deletes you can get. If you have wrong information on your credit by all means work to get the creditor or collection agency to correct it asap!My thoughts after having dealt with different companies and hearing from many clients who have done so is that someone who simply does the mailings with the proper words addressing disputes to each creditor/collection agency being disputed seems to be the only thing that can be trusted to work to some extent. However, the letters must be repeated each month to each appropriate credit bureau until the creditor or collection agency tires of contesting it. Somehow, some of these fall off! But, the best way is to call each company and offer to settle in exchange for a credit delete letter. Always ask for a supervisor and if they act likethey do not know what a credit delete letter is ask for someone who does. They likely do. Any company can request their derogatory information on someone be deleted, no questions asked. It is quite simple. Getting them to do it...even for money...is the tough part! But it does get done. Be persistent...never admit to the debt...and just let them know you are still willing to settle in return for a credit delete. That is the only thing other than paying down revolving charge accounts that is going to increase your credit score substantially. Only you are going to have success with that. Someone from a major collection agency told me some they can get credit deletes for and some they cannot. I have seen credit card companies do it for late payments for some clients and for others they did not. But if you put out a good effort and can get 60 to 100 or more fico points, would it not be worth it?
