I can only loan in CA and can only encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity you have since your bankruptcy discharge to rebuild your credit. It will be a rough go for awhile but with small steps...secured credit with low limit for example....you can get back on track. As far as your immediate need there imay be some attraction to you as a borrower in that you should have no other debts. However, most bank and other conventional lending will not be available to you for some time yet. I suggest you find someone you know who would be willing to go into a legally binding contract with you to get paid back at an agreed upon interest rate. There are firms that will handle the loan for you so they feel it is legally binding. Securing it with your property could make them feel a little more trusting perhaps? Best of luck to you!
That's going to be tough.. 2nd position mortgages are very risky for a lender and for that reason, most require much better credit than even what the first position mortgage requires.. Without knowing all the details of your scenario, it's difficult to advise you properly, but in general, you wont find a loan with any of the institutional banks.. With 35 years on the job, then if your employer has a credit union, and your a member there, you might try them.. since some still lend on the "Relationship" with the borrower and put more weight behind it than the credit score.. you might have some success there, but other than that, your more than likely not going to find a loan for some time.
