Wells Fargo partners with Operation Homefront to Donate Bank-Owned Homes to Military Families

By Sari R. Updated on 8/24/2012

Wells Fargo just announced that it is partnering up with nonprofit Operation Homefront to donate around $500,000 in bank-owned homes to military families.  Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing assistance to military families.  One of Operation Homefront’s highlighted programs is “Homes on the Homefront.”  This particular program gives assistance and transitional services to families until military residents obtain the properties.

In order to qualify for these homes, the families must have at least one member who is a Guard, Reserve or military member on active duty or who has been honorably discharged.  The member of the military must not currently own a home and must be able to pay mortgage payments in the future.

Operation Homefront CEO Jim Knotts is thrilled that Wells Fargo is partnering with them because it will open up the benefit for so many more veterans.  Knotts is also pleased to be a part of the transition from military to home life.
