12/27/10 How will the mortgage marketplace look in 2011? The first answer is that no one truly knows. The marketplace has been volatile lately, with rising interest rates in spite of the Fed’s actions to keep them low. But there are several trends that can be expected.
We can expect to see more cash purchases of homes by investors, who aren’t affected by tax credits. Mortgage loans will continue to be difficult to obtain. Lenders will continue to tighten lending standards. Banks will face significant new regulations.
