Commercial property lending saw a huge decrease during the start of the economic downturn, but it may be poised to recover faster than the residential mortgage market. In the previous quarter, commercial property lending increased almost 30% percent and industrial property lending increased almost 100%.
Commercial loans are still tough to get as a whole, however. Lending standards are tight, and total commercial lending remains low. But commercial property prices are about 40% below 2007 levels, which bodes well for investors looking to snatch up deals.
