HARP Now

Thursday, April 11, 2013 - Article by: Kiernan - The Mortgage Advocate - Message

The HARP program is expected to end 12/31/2013. If you have not applied or applied over more than 6 months ago for this special refinancing program now is the time. Until recently, most lenders were only accepting HARP loans up to 125% loan to value and would not accept MI recertification. Many lenders are now accepting HARP Loans up to 125% and higher and allowing MI recertification. This may be your last chance to refinance your home to a historically low rate. For those of you who do not have a mortgage owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, look up HARP 3. HARP 3 is a proposed program for mortgage holders who's mortgages are not held by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This program needs more support and you should call your representatives to push for its approval.
