So you've decided that it's time to buy a house, but just thinking about the words 'mortgage lender' gives you a migraine the size of the living room of the house you want to buy! What do I know about this whole process? How do I pick a mortgage lender? Here's what you should be looking for when it comes to what kind of person you want as your mortgage lender.

1. A Good Waiter/Waitress - One of my pet peeves is waiters/waitresses that want to sit down at my table at the restaurant and pretend to be my friend while taking my order! I don't want a new friend, I came here for food and you are the server. I like it when they are professional but know the boundaries. You want the same thing in your mortgage lender someone who is courteous, knowledgeable about what they do, but also professional and business-like.

2. A Wedding Planner - A Wedding Planner works to get you to your goal: your dream wedding. They work to get you what you want, and the only way they can get there is to understand exactly what you want. So they ask questions to determine your goal and then they go to work once they fully understand where you want to go.
