So you want to buy a home. One of the biggest assets you will ever buy that provides warmth, security, and safety with a built in savings account to boot. You made the decision to start the process and WHAM! Who do you trust? A 30 year mortgage, that is a third of human's lifetime and you pay 2/3 more in interest over the life of the loan. How long are you really going to stay in that "new to you" home?
Everyone needs a place to call home. Right Dorothy! Kansas is not Oz.
Which brings me to the Welcome Mat. A small fibrous outdoor mat that sits out front of your home and let folks know that they are welcome, including yourself. Did you know the favorite color of the welcome mat is brown? It hides the dirt people say. Next time you are shopping for your new home move the mat a little to the side and see how much dirt accumulates? This is a true tale of what kind of person lived there if it is not a new home. When you move the welcome mat do you expose the uncertainties of the home? Not really, it is just a sure way to tell if your home tracks in the dirt or leaves it right at the doorway.
Heck, You just might need a new one. Happy Shopping!
Cheers.
