How often do home purchase contracts really expire? I mean when an inspired buyers agent negotiates with a sellers agent, does the dates actually work. There was a study done that identifies the difference between closing in 2006 and now. The results were crazy. There were more loan transactions and less time from contract to closing in 2006. Now the amount of times an extension on any given contract at least in Texas is 50%. Those odds are horrible. Do your self a favor if you are buying a home and the buyers agent says that you will close in less than 30 days, go ahead and get out the exention and what ever you do, do not count on it.
