When you wake up in the morning and get dressed, what kind of statement does your clothing make? Whether you wear brand-name designer clothes or thrift store hand-me-downs, your wardrobe says something about you.
Nine Line Apparel, a veteran-owned clothing company, says being proud of who you are in your clothing is what's important.
"It's much more than getting dressed every day, it's about being proud of who you are, what you wear, and how you walk through life," the company says. "We are relentlessly patriotic. We hold no punches, we don't apologize for our love of country, we are America's next greatest generation."
Based in Savannah, Ga, Nine Line Apparel was founded by Army Capt. Tyler Merritt, his wife, Angela Merritt, brother, Ret. Army Capt. Daniel Merritt and Myles Burke in 2012 in Tyler's garage. The company was originally started a promotional products company before evolving into the apparel powerhouse it is today.
The company has grown from a garage start-up to a 100-employee-strong, 24-hour operation in just four years. Co-founder Daniel Merritt says the company's growth is a sign of its staying power and developing legacy.
"Creating something that's gonna last longer than yourself is ya know, pretty amazing to think about," he told his local ABC affiliate.
Daniel, who is retired from the Army but still serves in the Army Reserves, and Tyler's wife, Angela, run the company since Tyler is still on active duty. The name comes from well-known military terminology: a Nine Line is a medevac request for a soldier that is injured on the battlefield.
For Nine Line and its founders, there's much more to the company than making clothing. At its core, the company is about giving back. Through its nonprofit arm, Nine Line supports a multitude of initiatives beyond raising awareness, and supporting organizations that help those in need. From first responders to military charities to disaster relief initiatives, Nine Line is committed to ongoing support of charitable initiatives.
