You can refinance with whomever you wish, but a couple of tips can help. Contact a local non-bank licensed loan officer. You don't have to go to their office, but we suggest someone you "could" drive to if needed. Stay away from whoever you make your payment to today. Stay away from the big internet lenders, and stay away from the non-licensed application clerks at the big banks. In MN or WI, visit www.MetzlerMortgage.com

My advice is to contact a local Mortgage Banker/Broker, rather than one of the big banks. Unlike a bank employee, who is most likely just an order taker, a Mortgage Broker/Banker is Trained, Tested and Licensed in all aspects of Mortgage Origination. He/She will have access to loan products of many lenders, not just those of one bank, and can properly guide you. But more importantly, He/She is trained to take a look at the various different options available to you and guide you into the one that makes the best sense for your situation. Don't forget to check out your selected Mortgage Originator at the National Mortgage Licensing System at www.NMLSConsumerAccess.org ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com

Hi Junior, 5.25 is probably your interest rate? If your score is 525 you will have a hard time refinancing. I would be glad to look at your credit report and give you some guidance. Each situation is different and you might benefit from refinancing in a couple of different ways. Ill be glad to discuss it with you.Nop one can give you a definite answer till they have seen the total picture. Im here to help. Website is www.leticiabotkin.supremelending.com.
