Your lender will record a satisfaction/release of mortgage at the county recorder's office. Every mortgage servicer is a bit different, but you will receive a letter stating that it's paid in full and a copy of the release of mortgage. There is no actual document like an auto title that you will receive. You have always owned the home, you just had a lien on it (mortgage).
You received the deed when you purchased the property.. so what you will be looking for is a "Release of Deed".. this is the document that says you have satisfied your loan obligations.. it will accompany a letter stating your loan has been paid in full.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Depends on the lender and state/local procedures but as others pointed out you mainly will get an official document acknowledging the note is paid in full and the mortgage (technically a lien on the property) is released.
You will receive a Release of Deed and a letter stating it has been paid in full.
