What is the Community Home Buyer Program? Why have I never heard of it before?

Probably because it doesn't exist, or that's not the correct name for the program.. there is however a program with Chandler for first time home buyers.. there are Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP)funds available for you to assist with your down payment and closing costs, but it's intended for first time home buyers only.. there are also homes that were purchased by the city and then rehabbed. If you purchase these particular homes (only 17 Available), then you would get grant money to help pay your down payment and closing costs, however keep in mind that these few properties are in the hardest hit area, so you might not like the neighborhood. The programs are set aside for low income families, so not every one will qualify, and there are other requirements as well, so if your interested in purchasing a home, you really should speak to a local mortgage guy, like myself, and let us evaluate your complete profile/scenario, and let us guide you to the right loan product for you specific situation. .. Name different states, counties, or communities have their own special home buyer programs... You'll have to sit down with a local mortgage broker in your area to see what is available for you. For example, only here in MN, we have a cool 3% down conventional program with NO mortgage insurance. www.MNBestRates.com
