What is the chance to refinance just a 2nd mortgage if you have less than perfect credit?

Currently we have a 2nd mortgage with 11.63% interest rate, we never been late on this mortage in fact they automatically take the payments bi-weekly. We have low credit scores due to credit card debt. We talked directly to the mortgage company and they do not offer refinancing 2nd mortgages. Any advice by Lsantillon1 from Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Depending on your overall situation, you may be better looking into a loan modification. Look into the Making Home Affordable program. I believe you will find your answers and relief in this program. Hope this helps.

Without knowing how low your scores are, how much you owe on the property or how much it's worth, that's very hard to say. Second mortgages are available, however you may be able to refinance both your first and second and save money, it all depends on your situation. I suggest you try speaking with a broker that has various loan products available. You can try looking through the directory here to find one. Gregorio Denny -- WeFixRates.Com

Refinancing just the second is probably not an option. If Your existing lender won't help the next best choice is to look into refinancing both the first and second. You say you have low scores due to credit card debt but do not state what those scores are. No one can give you any guidance without that information. You need scores of 620 or better to qualify. You need to be talking directly to a loan officer and supply complete information to determine how to proceed.
