I live in sunny California and this is my first time buying a home. Is it essential to get a pre approval before I go on looking for a home? How much down payment should I save up for? What are the different loan options available and what is the best one? by nweaver396 from El Segundo, California. Jan 31st 2022

The whole idea of pre-approval is to do exactly what you are asking. To give you loan options, down payment requirements, how much you qualify for, etc. Simply make application with a local mortgage broker. Stay away from the big internet lenders and the banks, and you should be in good hands. I lend for properties in MN WI IA SD ND. Find me at JoeMetzler.com, NMLS 274132
