I am trying to save money by listing my home as "FSBO". Is there a service that is more reputable and/or best to use? by christa6767 from Almont, Colorado. Jul 13th 2015
No.. There is no better way to sell your home then by using an experienced real estate agent.. if you list your home as a FSBO, you will be inundated with solicitation calls from realtors, and any potential buyers who call you on your FSBO ad, will most likely have credit issues.. I'm speaking first hand here.. I've been a real estate investor (not a licensed agent) for nearly 30 years and I've always listed my properties with an agent.. and last year I tried my luck at selling one of my properties as a FSBO.. i'll never do it again.. I received nearly 100 phone calls in the first 10 days, and there was maybe 4 actual buyers, all with issues.. the remainder were agents soliciting for a listing.. After 5 weeks of this torment, I listed with a realtor and got 3 contracts in the first weekend.. I was reminded of the ole saying.. "stepping over dollars to pick up pennies" was a lesson I though i had learned.. Don't believe me!! you can list your home for free on Zillow.com, and they have the highest traffic of any online real estate listing website.. and even if you say in your ad, "Please don't solicit me", you will still get a lot of calls from agents.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. My Opinion? None... Using a Realtor more often than not will get you a better price, which pays for their services, and prevents other headaches that inexperienced sellers stumble on all the time.
