We have recently been discharged from a Chapter 13, and would like to take advantage on the Harp refinance loan.

We are current on our mortgages. How do we find a lender willing to work with our situation?? by Bryon720 from Loveland, Ohio. Dec 17th 2012 Reply

Click on the "Find a Lender" tab above, type in your zip code, and there you go.. you can also Google " mortgage broker <zip code>".... although HARP guidelines state that BK's are ok, it really depends on where you credit score is... but by contacting a local broker, you'll find out soon enough... it really has nothing to do with the broker, as it does the automated underwriting system (DU/LP)... if you get DU/LP approval, you'll be fine.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

Unfortunately you would need to wait at least 2 years from the date of the discharge.

Give me a call and we can review the rest of the details and make an offer within 24 hours. Since you have a chapter 13 and not 7 this does open the door now and not waiting the longer period required for the chapter 7. Mark 302-449-7373

The current guidelines require it to be 2 years since your discharge. If you have some equity in the property a FHA loan might be an option but you would have to pay FHA mortgage insurance. That may still be enough of a savings to be worthwhile depending where your current rate is.
