We are ready to purchase our home

After many years of saving, my wife and i are finally ready to take the plunge and start house hunting... I filled out the forms on this website and was wondering what the next step is? Should I begin looking for a realtor now or will my lender recommended one to work with? by kevins98s from Queens, New York. Oct 29th 2010 Reply

Kevin, most good lenders can recommend a good realtor, or two. Me personally, I have a few realtor partners with whom I work particularly well with through a transaction. I'm sure you'll find it to be a smoother transaction yourself if you work with a lender-realtor team, as opposed to just finding two professionals who have never worked together before. Ultimately, though, it will come down to whether, or not, YOU are comfortable and happy with the lender and realtor you work with. You'll be spending the next several days working with both professionals, so your comfort and happiness with their expertise and communications style should be your first indicator. There's nothing wrong with doing a quick phone interview with a couple professionals before you make a decision. Happy Hunting!
