My father is ill / in a coma and i have been trying to get some info about his house that is on a VA loan. If he passes away, is the loan transferable to non VET? I am in the will and this is not explained to me. I am wondering if I will need to qualify for the loan. My FICO is 680 and I am employed making $78k per year. I have a lot of debt right now which is why i am concerned about having to apply all over again and risk loosing the house. by isaacson325 from Dallas, Texas. Dec 13th 2018
Existing VA home loans are assumable - with qualifying. This means you can't just take over the loan. You must deal with the lender, and they will check you out to see if you can safely afford the payment before allowing the assumption. So your high debt may cause trouble. For VA loans in MN, WI, and SD, check out VAMortgageMN.com, or call me at (651) 552-3681. NMLS274132
Hi Isaac, yes you can assume the loan if you qualify. We lend in ALL 50 states, so give me a call or email me at 954-274-7725 or Ralph.Guertin@myccmortgage.com
