Vet applying for a VA loan

I am a veteran planning to apply for a VA loan. I have a middle score of 560 and I plan to buy a home in Wisconsin. Are there lenders who would work with me even with low credit scores? I am willing to work on raising my scores to get approval. My credit card balances are too high which led to low scores. by sgtsmith172 from Fort Rucker, Alabama. Jun 10th 2022 Reply

Thank you for your service. The answer is that most lenders will not work with a score that low, and even those who say they will, that low of a score has an extremely high probability of getting you denied. My best advice is to work on getting that score up at least over 620 before applying to give yourself the best chance. If you apply today, any good Loan Officer could give you advice based on what they see on your credit report to help you increase your score. I provide VA mortgage loans in MN, WI, IA, ND, and SD.
