My home is on the market but will be taking it off soon if no buyers. How long before I can refinance? by scottfairfield717 from La Grange, Kentucky. Jul 30th 2016
If you are trying to sell your home and it is on the market, that in no way keeps you from refinancing your home. Begin the process at anytime. Work with a local loan professional to get started, who has a great reputation for good client service.
The rules say it cannot be listed for sale at the time you apply, but this is the underwriting guidelines.. each lender can add their own rules.. and for some, they want it off market for 6 months... For this reason, you should talk to a local mortgage broker and find out what their lenders require.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona.
