The Investor on my rental property in Texas is privately owned. Do i still have to go through the current loan servicer (SPS).

Rory, it depends what you are looking for. If you want to refinance you do not have to go through them, for servicing questions or information about your escrows you will need to contact them. Hope that helps, or submit some follow up info. pdumouchel@primelending.com

When a private loan is set up and the beneficiary has picked a servicing company, then yes, you have to use that servicing company to make your payments through.. however if you refinance, you can use any lender you wish, but the servicing is still out of your hands,,,, the only way you get to pick who will service the loan is if your the one doing the lending..
