Spouse has great credit, but my income is higher. His score is around 740, and mine is 660-ish. What is the best strategy for us?

Do you need both incomes to qualify? Do you have time to attempt to raise your credit score? On FHA, VA, and USDA loans, you'll get the same interest rate regardless of the lower 660 score. On a conventional loan, you'll pay a slightly higher rate because of the 660 score, but I've never seen that stop anyone (annoy them, but not stop them).
